How to become a Christian

Through love and faithfulness sin is atoned for; through the fear of the Lord a man avoids evil. Proverbs 16:6

If you want to become a christian, you have to understand that you've sinned. And that through love your sin has been forgiven.

I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, ChristJesus might display his unlimited patience as an example for those who would believe on him and receive eternal life. 1 Timothy 1:16

God wants us to live forever. Not on earth, but in heaven. On earth, there is sin and God doesn't want us to live here forever, but when we die, God wants us to live with him, to have eternal life.

The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God. Romans 6:10

God cannot except sin because he is perfect. You have to live a perfect life if you want to God to heaven. That is why we need Jesus. Jesus is God's son. Jesus did not sin. Ever. He was a human just like us, but he was also God. He never sinned even though he was tempted and he felt pain.
When he was on earth, he was sentence to be hung on a cross made of wood and nail to it. He was stabbed by a spear in the side and he was crowned with a crown of thorns that dug into his head. And worst of all, he carried all the sins of the world ever sin that was and would be committed. Ever sin you did and ever sin I did. So much sin that God couldn't even look at Jesus, he turned his back on his son. And then Jesus died.
He was taken off the cross and put into a tomb. But that's not the end of the story. Jesus fought the devil and sin for three days and then he came back to life, with sin defeated.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9

And now Jesus lives with his father. And when ever people admit that they are sinners and believe that Jesus died for their sin and came back to life, then Jesus covers their sin and God let's them come to heaven when they die.
If your're ready to become a christian, all you have to do is pray. That means you talk to God. You don't have to even say anything out loud, you can think words and God can still hear it. There's no right way to pray. God understands what you mean.

The Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. Romans 8:26

So it's ok if you don't think your praying the right way because there isn't a right way. The Holy Spirit will help you. He knows exactly what your trying to say when you pray.
